The Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST) Appoints New Executive Director
(Schaumburg, IL) — The Institute of Environmental Sciences and Technology (IEST), the leading technical, nonprofit membership association that connects professionals who deal with controlled environments in the fields of cleanrooms/contamination control, environmental testing and product reliability, and nanotechnology named Angela McKay, CAE, as its new Executive Director effective July 1, 2017.
McKay joined IEST in September, 2016 as Deputy Executive Director before assuming the role of Executive Director last month. She worked closely with former Executive Director, Roberta Burrows, who recently retired from IEST after nearly 20 years. Burrows, who will continue to serve the organization as a Technical Advisor, is eager to work with McKay in her new role, stating, “She brings with her an extensive amount of association experience and a new vitality to the organization.”
McKay is an accomplished association executive with vast experience leading international and local associations/non-profits spanning the hospitality, financial management, professional affiliation and medical industries. She served as the CEO & President at CFA Society Chicago for five years and in previous association executive positions. “It is my honor to serve in this role, to lead IEST’s efforts in connecting professionals through collaboration, expert training, and education to advance the knowledge of the environmental sciences and technology community. Through the collaborative and innovative efforts of our Executive Board and staff, we will continue to build upon past successes to fulfill our strategic goals, and increase IEST’s global impact.” says McKay.
McKay holds a bachelor of science degree from Illinois State University. She earned the Certified Association Executive CAE© credential in 2009 through American Society of Association Executives (ASAE) and is a 2013 recipient of the Forty Under 40® Award presented by the Association Forum of Chicagoland and USAE.
